for Bird Island Project
~City will install water main, hydrants and gate valves~

ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Public Facilities Authority PFA) approved $544,369 for water infrastructure improvements in Bird Island.

Minnesota River Valley Recreation and Conservation Master Plan The draft Minnesota River Valley Recreation and Conservation Master Plan is available for a 30-day public comment period. The Master Plan can be found at  Comments about the plan can be sent to through June 8, 2017. Printed copies of the plan are available for loan at the Renville County Environmental Office in Olivia, the Redwood County Environmental Office in Redwood Falls, the Redwood Falls Public Library and the Lower Sioux Environmental office in Morton.

A public open house will also be held June 8th to receive written comments about the Master Plan. The open house will be held at the Redwood Falls Public Library community room from 4:30 7:30 p.m.
MN Valley OHVRA Update

The EAW for the MN Valley OHVRA is out for public review. It will be open until 4:30 p.m., May 10, 2017 for public comment. To learn more about Renville County’s current economic situation and to explore opportunities for economic development, community leaders from Renville County participated in the University of Minnesota’s Economic Futures Workshop on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in Olivia. The Business Innovation Grant is designed for more traditional and tangible projects, while the Community Impact Funds is for softer requests, such as adding amenities and community planning projects.
