Renville County HRA/EDA Awards Community Impact Fund Grants

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
(OLIVIA, MN, June 4, 2019) Four Renville County communities were recently awarded Community Impact Fund Grants from the Renville County HRA/EDA. These grants will assist with a variety of projects to enhance community aesthetics and amenities in Renville County.
- The Danube Area Athletic Club (City of Danube) was awarded $1,000 that will be put toward purchase/replacement of the city park playground equipment and a community club house addition.
- The City of Fairfax was awarded $550 to implement a downtown light pole banner project in partnership with the GFW School District. Students will provide the artwork for the banners that the city will display.
- The City of Hector was awarded $1,000 to assist with their city scape revitalization project, which will replace worn and outdated street signs.
- K&M Manufacturing (City of Renville) was awarded $1,000 to put toward site clean-up and parking lot creation at their main facility.
The Community Impact Fund Grant Program was created as a way to assist in community enhancement. Eligible uses range from city park projects to blight clean up to trail development.
Renville County Community Impact Funds Grants are awarded two times each year. Deadlines for application are April 10 and October 10, and matching funds are a grant requirement. Applications are scored based on need, leveraging of other funds, realism of the project plan, and ability to use the funds in a timely fashion.
The Renville County HRA/EDA works to keep the county strong by fostering business growth and development, promoting tourism and recreation, and providing housing opportunities for county residents.
