Renville County HRA/EDA Awards Business Innovation Grants

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
(OLIVIA, MN, May 28, 2019) Four Renville County businesses were recently awarded Business Innovation Grants from the Renville County HRA/EDA. These grants will assist with a variety of project expansions and updates.
- Farmer’s Co-op Oil Company was awarded $1,850 to assist in remodeling the Olivia Cenex for a food concept and additional parking.
- Main Street Bar and Grill of Renville was awarded $1,822 to put toward the replacement of an aging furnace.
- Northland Lumber and Supply of Fairfax was awarded $2,400 to assist with adding 20,000 square feet of storage and warehouse space and a new digital sign.
- Schultz Electric of Hector was awarded $2,400 to put toward interior renovations of their office and shop building.
The Business Innovation Grant Program, first started in 2016, is a way to assist new or existing businesses or businesses relocating to Renville County. Eligible uses range from building purchases or renovations to employee training.
Renville County Business Innovation Grants are awarded quarterly. Deadlines for application are January 10, April 10, July 10 and October 10 and matching funds are a grant requirement. Applications are scored based on need, leveraging of other funds, potential impact on Renville County, realism of the project, and timetable of the project.
The Renville County HRA/EDA works to keep the county strong by fostering business growth and development, promoting tourism and recreation, and providing housing opportunities for county residents.
