If you have a low or moderate income and are looking for some help with the cost of rent, the Renville County HRA/EDA may be able to help. The agency administers two federally-funded programs which provide income-based rental housing assistance.

The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program assists households to rent from private landlords. The household pays 30 percent of their income for rent and utilities and the HRA/EDA pays the landlord for the balance of the rent. The agency currently administers 84 Housing Choice vouchers, and there is a normally a waiting list with a six month to one year wait.

The HRA/EDA also owns 25 homes and apartments through the Public Housing Program. The Centennial Apartment building (18-units) is located in Franklin, MN. Three single-family homes are located in Franklin, two single-family homes are located in Morton, and three single-family homes are located in Sacred Heart.
